The body Shop basics

La mer experience was so inspiring that I convinced myself to buy a facial buff like the ones we used there.

Its good for deep cleansing they say. So I tried this one from the body shop. I indeed felt the difference. It is squeaky clean yet refreshed. I don’t feel any soap residue (the hard and tight feeling) nor oily feel. I can use this once a week to properly exfoliate my face. What i love more is that i use lesser water with this since I just need to sweep the sponge on my face. I usually splash water many times on my face coz that way i feel I clean my face well.

Organic cotton rounds

Unused - pretty dots..

Used - they dont leave cotton fibers on face

I love that this is organic. Also it is textured yet so soft, perfect for removing (eye) make-up. It doesn’t break or loosen easily like the usual cotton pads I use. I got this for P300 for 2 rolls (100pcs each).

The body shop cocoa lip butter

(Encircled)

While enduring my chapped lips, I researched and got across some writings that lip products with petroleum will only worsen chapped lip. I looked at my 10 (yes ten) lipbalms majority of which have petroleum as ingredient. And so I went for my TBS cocoa lip butter

Ingredients: Hydrogenated coconut oil, beeswax, Olive oil, Candelila wax,Cocoa Butter, sweet almond oil, tocopherol acetate, propelene glycol, water, Matricaria extract, ammonium glycyrrhizate, calendula officinalis extract, tocopherol.

Verdict: I’d been using this even before had chapped lips. The finish is satiny soft, not oily. Good base for lipsticks. It did heal my chapped lips. Aid the tightness and dryness. In weeks time my lips were back to normal. Effective and really conditions my lips. It claims to restore elasticity iof skin, and I agree to it, a week of religiously using it made my lips baby soft, plumped, not wrinkled and reddish again. Good lipbalm for me

Rate: 5/5

Shea Body Butter and Olive body butter

My favorite body butter in the Body Shop. I usually use them a t night before bed time.

Shea Body Butter

Verdict: For Very Dry skin type since it’s very moisturizing or for night use only. Love the smell kinda expensive though but I think its worth the bucks its just there are cheaper alternative. I keep on going back to this one though..

Rating: 4/5

Olive body butter

Verdict: For normal to dry skin. Can be use during the day since I dont find it that heavy. I don’t like the smell.. I prefer the Shea butter

Rating: 4/5

The body shop Mineral Make-up Line

I saw TBS MMU are now on stores.. they’re on sale right now so the last time so a foundie will cost Php900++ but retails on Php1000++ ($25 more or less) .

Eye colors ($13) have a handful of collection too.. all in neutral colors,.

The earth’s purest minerals

Best if you want to: Achieve a healthy, radiant complexion with ultra-fine minerals that blend evenly to protect skin and reduce redness and imperfections.

  • Dermatologist-tested with no added fillers, preservatives or fragrances.

Cheek colors ($18) are available in shades of pink quarts, golden terracotta, warm copper, brown topaz..

Eye colors ($13) have a handful of collection too.. all in neutral colors,.

VERDICT:

I didn’t road test the set.. by looking at the ingredient list they are quit minimalist unless they didn’t list all of the fillers used.. The color selection are very limited plus they don’t sell samples but you get to test them on counters.. Price is comparable to MMU we buy online (minus the shipping costs and turn-around time (TAT)॥

Great for those that aren’t into online shopping

Will I buy one: I need to sample them first

They also have their kabuki brush to go with their MMU line,. This is so soft,. Comparable to lumiere and EDM brushes.. It look so polished and well crafted.. just lovely… costs Php1000++ too.. hmm reasonably priced too,. Might grab this baby to add to my collection of brushes…
